cutNdeals.com Community Projects

AFTER
It's the kind of story you wish you heard more often. It tells of a group of local businesses, coming together to perform a miracle for a family in need. I’m talking about an extreme home makeover and this one pulls at your heartstrings.
Jean Gonzales has dedicated her life to taking care of children. By occupation, she is a Patient Care Technician at Phoenix Children's Hospital. As a single mother, she raised four children of her own. As a foster mother, she is raising her sister's two grandchildren, Destiny, 9 and Lydia, 8. She is planning to adopt them and their three-year-old brother, Daniel (whom she cares for 6 days a week.) She also cares for her four grandchildren: Sam, 4, Joey, 2, Sebastian, 2, and Skyla, 1.
Gonzales and the six children all live in a four-bedroom home near Broadway Road and 17th Avenue. It's the same house that Gonzales was raised in, along with her six brothers and five sisters.
Between work and raising the six children, Gonzales found it difficult to find the time and money to make necessary repairs on her home. It sat on a dirt lot, with cracked walls and peeling paint. All of the electrical and plumbing needed to be replaced and a new HVAC system needed to be installed.
Gonzales didn't have a clue about how her life was going to change. A co-worker recommended her family's home for renovation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix executive council. At that time, Troy Funk, a Real Estate Investor and Entrepreneur from Scottsdale, contacted Steve LaTerra, who serves on the council, about opportunities to help families and children of phoenix metro, the Gonzales project came together.
Troy Funk, the CEO of cutNdeals.com, a company that specializes in wholesale properties, is now giving families in financial trouble a second chance. "We know how important it is to give back to the community," he said. "It's a social responsibility and, at the end of the day, it just feels good and right!" Funk, along with Chance Kruljac, Wholesale Specialist donated time and money to see the project through to completion. CutNdeals.com funded a generous amount for this restoration project.
Other contributors included Nolan Ryan of Arizona Wholesalers and Alan Robinson of Paying Cash for Houses.
The house was gutted, down to the exterior walls and the concrete slab. The floors, roof, and almost everything in between was replaced or fixed. There were new appliances, three new sets of bunk beds, ceiling fans, and linens. They repaired electrical outlets and plumbing and installed all new flooring throughout the house. The outside of the home had a facelift too. New paint on the exterior, a driveway, grass and, the cherry on top, a fancy new play set for those six kids.
"I just couldn't believe it." Gonzales said. "I always help everyone out, but I'm not used to getting that treatment in return. I was just speechless."
